Brandy Barnett | President
I serve as President of Wilson County Adoption and Rescue Services. I have been involved in animal rescue since 2001 and stepped into the role of President in December 2024. Alongside my work with the rescue, I am a licensed Animal Control Officer and work part-time at a local veterinary clinic, giving me hands-on experience in both animal care and shelter operations.
I am deeply passionate about animal welfare and committed to strengthening our shelter and the community we serve. Working alongside an incredible team, I am dedicated to continuing the growth of our local rescue efforts, improving standards of care, and building a safer, more compassionate future for animals throughout Wilson County.

Juan Diaz I Vice President
I serve as Vice President of Wilson County Adoption and Rescue Services, bringing a strong commitment to animal welfare, responsible leadership, and community service. I am dedicated to helping build a rescue organization that operates with transparency, accountability, and compassion while providing safe, humane care for every animal we serve.
With a professional background in operations, construction, and organizational management, I actively support Wilson County Adoption and Rescue Services through facility planning, budgeting, compliance, and hands-on problem solving. My experience allows me to help strengthen the organization’s infrastructure and support sustainable, long-term growth while maintaining high standards of care.
Family and community involvement are central to my passion for rescue work. My family and I are actively involved in supporting the mission through volunteer efforts, community outreach, and education on responsible pet ownership. I believe engaging families and local partners is essential to building compassion, accountability, and lasting support for animal welfare.
As Vice President, I am committed to working collaboratively with staff, volunteers, board members, and community stakeholders to ensure Wilson County Adoption and Rescue Services remains a trusted community resource—one that brings people together to save lives, support families, and create brighter futures for animals.

Denise Diaz I Director of Operations
I serve as Director of Operations for Wilson County Adoption and Rescue Services, but at my core, I am someone who deeply believes in doing right by animals and the people who care for them. Rescue work is not just something I do—it is something I am personally invested in every day.
I oversee the daily operations of the rescue, working behind the scenes to make sure our animals receive consistent, compassionate care and that our team has the structure and support needed to do their best work. From intake processes and care coordination to supporting volunteers and maintaining organization across the rescue, my focus is always on creating a calm, responsible, and humane environment.
Family and community are a big part of why rescue matters so much to me. I believe compassion starts at home and grows through community involvement, education, and teamwork. I am passionate about supporting families, empowering volunteers, and building strong relationships that allow our rescue to truly make a difference.
My goal as Director of Operations is to help ensure Wilson County Adoption and Rescue Services is a place where animals are treated with dignity, volunteers feel valued, and the community can trust that every decision is made with care, integrity, and heart.
